Funeral services for Betty Joyce Capps, age 84 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Rudd officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Sylvan Cemetery. Betty passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born September 17, 1935 in Kossee, Texas to the late, William Henry and Mildred (Hill) Graves. Betty worked as an Executive Secretary for IBM for over 20 years. She has lived in the Lindale area for the last 20 years where she and her late husband owned and operated Lindale Real Estate. Betty was a member of Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed all types of craft work, gardening and her beloved family. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Lee Capps in 2004; sisters, Gracie Lee Anderson and Ruth Hall. Betty is survived by sons, Doug Ragsdale and wife, Cathie of Lindale, Texas, Drew Capps of Waco, Texas, and Dustin Capps and wife, Erin of Haleiwa, Hawaii; brothers, Wallace Graves and wife, Joyce of Royce City, Texas and Harold Graves and wife, Ona of Dodd City, Texas; sisters, Carol Davis of Bonham, Texas and Teresa Wright and husband, Cliff of Bailey, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Ragsdale, Maggie Walker and husband, Sam, Dorian Jones, and Danielle Capps; great granddaughter, Levi Joy Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Ragsdale, Sam Walker, Randy Bateman, Timothy Baty, and Joseph Herin. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
