Obituary Ann Almon Findlater, 78, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST, on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Epworth United Methodist Church, with Rev. Grant Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 am until 11:00 am EST, prior to the service, at the church. Mrs. Findlater was born March 15, 1941 in Americus, GA, daughter of the late James Almon and Mary Walker Almon. She worked in the healthcare industry initially but spent most of her life caring for her family. Mrs. Findlater had a passion for gardening and was a member and past president of the Summerville Garden Club, a member and past president of the Federated Garden Club and a member of the Board of Directors of the Garden Club of Alabama and the Deep South Garden Club. Additionally, she was a member of the South Georgia Judges Council, a member of Council IV Garden Club of AL Judges and a National Garden Club Accredited Master Flower Show Judge. Mrs. Findlater was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed the beach but her greatest love was spending time with her family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Fletcher Findlater and a sister, Mary Niblack. She is survived by two sons, John Findlater and wife Linda of Phenix City, AL and Jim Findlater of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Tyler Findlater and Ann Marie Findlater; extended family, church family and many caring friends.
