Obituary Cumberland, MD – Zanthetta Betty Merritt, 99, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019, at the Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 23, 1919, Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John Rhodes and Ella (Edmiston) Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Alton Merritt, June 9, 1975; and her sister: Alpharettta Smith. A homemaker, she was a member of the Metropolitan AME Church.
