Obituary of Wayne Harmon Geddings Wayne Harmon Geddings, 73, husband of Tessie Louise Geddings, died Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia. Born February 22, 1946 in Sumter, he was the son of the late Harmon Ezra and Myrtle Irick Geddings. He attended Sumter Schools and Wise Drive Church of Nazarene. He retired as owner and operator of Wayne’s Auto Sales and also Carolina Registers after 18 years of service. Survivors include his wife of Sumter; seven children, Dwayne Geddings (Kelly), Audrey Shirley, Paula Thynes (Chris) all of Sumter, Brian Geddings (Lori) of Winder, Georgia, Roy Bratton (Mattie), Ricky Bratton (Tracy) and Danny Bratton all of Sumter, 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Wright of Sumter, Patsy Barfield of Coward and Delores Griffin of Sumter. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Bratton, a daughter Brenda Kalkhof and a sister, Daisy Mouzon. Funeral services will be at 3 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Robert (Bob) Morris and Rev. Geordan Geddings. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home 301 N. Wise Drive and 2729 Browning Ridge Drive. Memorials may be made to Wise Drive Church of Nazarene, 300 N. Wise Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
