Williamsport, MD – Vincent John Gentile, 89, of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Hackettstown, NJ passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Doey’s House Hagerstown, MD. He was born on April 9, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Michael and Rose Bruno Gentile. Vincent was a Commander with the U.S. Navy He received his Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Steven’s Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Defense as a Mechanical Engineer until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Angela R. Gentile; son Peter M. Gentile of Roseland, NJ; son David V. Gentile and his wife Ann of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren Laura Wingerd of Martinsburg, WV and Joseph Gentile of Dover, NH. The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 7:00-9:00 pm. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 17630 Virginia Ave. Hagerstown, MD on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 10:00 am with Rev. Father John Jicha celebrant. Burial will be private.
