Travis Singleton, 52, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Abbeville and Spartanburg, died Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home. He was born in Greenwood to Mary Ellen Jones Singleton and the late Jimmie Singleton. A 1986 graduate of Dixie High School, Travis enjoyed art and learning to play the bagpipes in his younger years. He received a degree in Criminal Justice from Piedmont Technical College and was employed as a law enforcement officer with Perry Correctional Institution. Travis was a member of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg and an enthusiastic Clemson Tiger fan. Affiliated with the Spartan Masonic Lodge # 70 AFM, he was a 32nd degree Mason. Travis was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen, of the home; daughters, Brittany Scruggs (Scott) of Huntsville and Linsey Horne of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Skylar Scruggs, Greyson Scruggs, both of Huntsville and Belle Singleton of Spartanburg; and a sister, Michelle Singleton Bowie (Jimmy) and their children, Justin and Morgan, all of Huntsville. The family will receive friends 2:00PM – 3:00PM, Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions, in memory of Travis, may be sent to the local animal shelter of your choice.
