Thomas Henry Riles, age 68, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at his home in Wibaux, Montana. A Celebration of Life will be held at Vaqueros from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2019. Silha Funeral Home of Wibaux has been entrusted with the arrangements. Tom was born on September 28, 1951 to Howard and Hazel (Yeadon) Riles in Austin, Minnesota. He was raised and educated there, graduating from Austin High School with the class of 1969. Following High School, Thomas enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany for two years until his honorable discharge in 1972. He then went back to Minnesota and worked different jobs for awhile. During this time he met Candy Lewis and they were united in marriage in 1976. To this union two daughters were born, Heather and Donnialle. Tom furthered his education and received his welding certificate. After that, he started his career at King Company where he welded on heating and air conditioning units for the next twenty years, until the company closed. Tom continued to work odd jobs until he moved to Wibaux in 2006. While in Wibaux, he worked in the oilfield and later as a maintenance man at the Wibaux County Nursing Home, The Rainbow Club (now Vaqueros) and numerous other places. Tom loved fishing, socializing over a cold beer with friends, Bump and Runs, road trips and antiquing. His best friend and companion, Maggie his dog, was always by his side and was his protector. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Hazel; a brother, Donnie (Vietnam); a sister, Mary Niemi and his dog, Maggie. Tom is survived by his daughters, Heather (Ed) Grzechowiak of West Seneca, New York and Donnialle Riles (Ryan Kvam) of Austin, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Gavin Riles, Lexi Riles, Hunter Riles, Madilynn Riles and Zack Riles; his brothers, Paul (Cathy) of Iowa and twin brother, Tim (Rebecca) of Wisconsin; his sisters, Betty of Colorado and Colleen (Dave) Bainter of Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews.
