Mrs. Thera Marie Strother Dunn, age 85, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 14, 2019 in Pineville, Louisiana, at The Oaks Care Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Dunn will be on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria with Reverend Joshua Brooker officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Dunn will be on Thursday at Gallagher Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Friends may visit the church on Friday, starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home. Mrs. Dunn was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria and was light to her world and lived a life exampled after Christ. Mrs. Dunn was the matriarch of her family, the glue that brought everyone together. She was selfless and opened her home and heart to anyone in need and would pray with people regardless of her surrounds. Because of her love for people and kind heart, she was loved by everyone that met her. Mrs. Dunn will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her. Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Dunn; and parents, Horace and Elizabeth Strother. Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Steve Dunn (Elaine) of Alexandria, Michael Dunn of Alexandria, Randy Dunn of Alexandria, and Douglas Dunn of Alexandria; daughters, Teresa Brooker of Chattanooga and Brenda Parmley (Brian) of Alexandria; 6 grandchildren, Danielle Mickey (Jeremy), Jeremiah Brooker (Stephanie), Joshua Brooker (Jenni), Sara Joy Brooker, JoAnna Brooker, Jonathan Brooker; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ruvian Strother (Barbara) and Gene Ray Strother (Nell); sister, Glenda Steiber; and a host of extended family and friends.
