Theodore “Ted”‘s Obituary Weatherhead Young Funeral Home 885 Mantoloking Road Brick, NJ 08723 Theodore “Ted” Batzel, age 84 of Brick, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 23, 2019. He was a Union Carpenter and worked for local union 2018 for 50 years. Ted was a master woodworker and craftsman. He enjoyed building and spending time in his workshop listening to bluegrass music, and enjoyed gardening, taking care of his property and furniture building. Ted was born at home on Elm Lane on May 2, 1935. He built his own home on the same street and was a lifelong Brick/Osbornville native for 84 years. Surviving are his wife and life partner of 61 years Patricia Batzel (nee Cea), his sons, Kevin and his fiancé Patricia, Craig and his Partner Rick, and Gary and his wife Kristina, his loving grandchildren Skylar Jade and Dylan who adored their “Pop” The family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial gathering on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 3-7pm with a service to begin at 6:30pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Rd., Brick, NJ 08723.
