Obituary of Sylvia Tyus McLemore Sylvia Tyus McLemore passed away on October 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 1 PM at Cane Creek M.B. Church. Burial will follow in the Cane Creek M.B. Cemetery. Visitation for her will be on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 2 PM – 5 PM in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. Sylvia McLemore was born on August 7, 1960 in Haywood County, Tennessee to Curtis and Iola Tyus. She attended Haywood County Schools in Brownsville. During her adult years, she served as a soldier in the United States Army. She was a faithful member of Cane Creek M.B. Church for all of her life. God called her home on October 4, 2019 at Milan General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Iola Tyus, her son Anthony Terrill Mitchell and her brother Lawrence Tyus. She leaves many loved ones to cherish her memories: her husband of 30 years, Ricky McLemore, 2 sons Joe Mitchell Jr. and Brandon Mitchell (Tamra), 8 grandchildren Alandis, Kalyce, Jordan, Kameron, Kobe, Terrrill, Dylan, and Tatum, and 9 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings Verna Sales, Toreasor (Kenneth) Steele, Ola Tyus, Louise (Charles) Kearney, Mary (Joe) Crook, Doris (Larry) Owens, Curtis Jr. (Gertrude) Tyus, Steven Tyus, and Nadine (Bobby) Slayton. She leaves her mother-in-law Sue Ellen McLemore, her brother-in-law, Bryant McLemore, her sister-in-law Lisa (Terry) Bond, two special friends: Maxine Bunch and Earnestine (Miss Kat) Chatman, three aunts, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
