Sara Norris Sharpe, 101, widow of James Floyd “Hawk” Sharpe of Belton died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at her residence. Born in Belton, she was the daughter of the late Henry Frierson and Naomi Warnock Norris. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Belton and she worked at the Belton News Chronicle. Surviving are: son, Kirk Sharpe (Alice) of Belton; daughter, Judy Cushman of Anderson; grandson, Jason Sharpe (Jerri Lynn); granddaughters, Erin Saylers (Keith), and Angel Akers (Brian); great grandson, Jackson Sharpe; great granddaughters, Katie Saylers, Addie Sharpe, and Ava Akers. Service will be held at 11am Thursday, October 10th at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Lynch and Rev. Daryle Hawthorne officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 10am until 10:45am at Shady Grove Baptist. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Belton, Shady Grove Baptist Church, or Hospice of the Upstate. The family will be at the residence.
