Sandra Flake March 20, 1947 – October 30, 2019 Funeral services for Sandra Flake will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Pastor Lloyd Lane will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday beginning at noon. There will be no visitation on Friday. Mrs. Flake passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at her residence near Jewett. She was born in Liberty, TX, on March 20, 1947, but grew up in Clear Lake, Pasadena, and the surrounding areas. Sandra worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Houston before moving to Jewett in 1989. She married Leonard Flake on April 2, 1994, and shared over twenty-five years of marriage together. Mrs. Flake worked at several area businesses during her life including being assistant manager at Dairy Queen in Centerville, assistant manager of Tractor Supply in Buffalo, and manager of J.J.’s in Jewett. She loved making crafts and gift cards. Mrs. Flake was a member of the Miracle Christian Center in Buffalo. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Flake of Jewett; one daughter, Stacy Brown & husband Calvin of Marquez; one son, Chris Hill & wife Samantha of Splendora; one step-son, Jesse Flake & wife Crystal of Jewett; and one step-daughter, Stacy Clifton of Santa Fe, TX; eleven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marina Fabian of Jewett; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Flake was preceded in death by her father, Edward Owens; her mother & step-father, Virginia & Les Ericson; one daughter, Cindy Smith; and one brother, Robert (Ivan) Fabian.
