Ruth G. Martin, age 90, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Redbanks Nursing Home. Ruth was born in raised in Sturgis, KY. She was a beautician for more than 50 years. Ruth loved bowling and was on a league in Sullivan, KY. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Sturgis and taught Sunday School to two generations of members. She enjoyed gardening, doing DIY projects around the house, and spending time with her precious cat, “Baby”. In addition to her parents Van Buren and Goldie Caton, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Grayson Henson Martin, her daughter Deborah June Martin, and 3 brothers and 1 sister. Ruth is survived by her sister Mary “Brenda” Jones of Henderson, KY; nephew Greg Jones and his wife Barbara and their family of Henderson, KY; niece Gina Mabrey and her husband David and their family of Henderson, KY; and many other nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Ruth’s Life Celebration from 9:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend David Mabrey officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Davids Rest Cemetery in Boxville, KY.
