Roy Dwain Medlock, 79, of Brownwood, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Services for Roy Medlock will be held at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas on Saturday, October 12 at 10 a.m. with Interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas officiated by Tim Skaggs. Visitation will be Friday, October 11 from 6-8 p.m at Heartland Funeral Home. Roy was born to Eunice and J.J. Medlock on September, 29 1940 in Summersville, Missouri. He married the love of his life, Glenda Fay Lucas on February 3, 1962 in Lake Jackson, TX. They moved to Brownwood, Texas in 1977 where they raised their two children, Sandra and Vicki. Roy worked many years at Crystal Ice Company and retired from BISD Woodland Heights Elementary. He and his wife were members of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Roy was a kind hearted devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He enjoyed woodwork, collecting knives, painting, reading, taking walks and volunteering. But, his greatest love of all was his family. Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 57 years, Glenda Medlock; brother, Mike Medlock; daughters, Sandra Irwin and husband Allen, Vicki McLaughlin and husband Pat; grandchildren, Crissy Bachie, Ashley Lundy, Patrick McLaughlin, Megan Yeats, Cameron McLaughlin and Alex McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Roland Lundy and Penny Lane Lundy, and two great-grandchildren on the way. Roy was preceded in death by his parents Eunice and J.J. Medlock and grandchild Jared Kyle Irwin.
