With profound sadness we announce the passing of Rita M. Perkins, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on October 14th, 2019. Born in Forest City North Carolina May 18th 1949, she was the beloved mother of Cara, and proud grandmother of Kelsey and Mason. Rita grew up in Maryland and lived a full life as a wonderful mother and worker in the marketing and sales sector. When she was not working she enjoyed spending time with family, was a member of the DC Hand Dance club, playing cards, and once retired loved looking out over the canal from her sunroom in Royal Palm Beach Florida. Predeceased by her loving Father J. Harry Walker. Rita is survived by; mother Valerie Walker, sister Brenda Hill (Pete), brother Vinson Walker, daughter Cara Lounsbury (Jack), granddaughter Kelsey, grandson Mason, nephews Jeff (Laura) and Chris, great- niece Mandie, and great-nephews Brandon and Eric. Memorial donations in memory of Rita may be made to The Humane Society of the United States 1255 23rd Street, NW, Suite 450 Washington, DC 2003
