Richard Leach, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on September 22, 2019 in Ocala, Florida after complications from a fall while doing what he loved, working in the woods outside. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Melissa (Martin) Leach; his two sons, Richard and Kevin Leach; his two daughters, Sharon and Diane (Graske) Leach; his adoring grandchildren, Richard, Samantha, and William Leach; his loving brother, Robert Dutkiewicz; and many close friends. Richard, the son of Joseph and Marie (Maduzia) Leach was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 18, 1928. Richard is a veteran of World War II. He took great pride having served on a Liberty ship in the United States Merchant Marines where he earned several awards, including both the Atlantic and Pacific War Zone WW II medals. Words to describe and remember Richard by are: hard-working, friend, honorable, humorous, family, proud, caring, impeccable, wit, strong, loving, sharp, forward-looking, kind, and countless others…. In lieu of funeral services, a memorial service and celebration of his life will be held in Florida on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Roberts Funeral Home at 1:00 PM.
