Richard’s Obituary Richard (Dicky) Arthur Kenney Jr., age 66, passed away on October 8, 2019 at home from complications following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Wolkiewicz) Kenney. Born in Peabody, Dick was the son of Richard A. and Jeanne M. (Poirier) Kenney. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1971. He was employed at Harmony Metal Products, St. Johnsbury Trucking, and recently retired after 21 years at Jay Canty Carpentry. Dicky was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and running. Dicky’s favorite memories were enjoying trips to Alaska and Utah, vacationing with family at Cedar Pond NH and Plum Island, and spending holidays with his family. Surviving Dicky, in addition to his wife and parents are his sister Joyce Kenney and her husband Kevin Carnevale, his aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday October 15, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal Street, Salem. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 16 at 10:00 AM, at the Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service, and will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, located at 226 North Street, Salem.
