Rena Bennett Lightner, 87, widow of Walter Richard Lightner, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Born in Erlanger, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Lloyd and Cora Mae Hensley Bennett. A former secretary and paralegal, Rena was a member of St. Michael of the Archangel Episcopal Church in Lexington. She enjoyed reading and painting as well sewing, knitting, embroidery and crocheting. She is survived by her brother, James G. Bennett, FL; as well as four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Deborah L. Stephenson and Diana L. Carter; brothers, Robert Winston Bennett and Sherwood Bennett. A memorial service will be 2 PM Friday at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery.
