April 27 1929 September 2 2019
Reldon Black of Salem, Missouri entered into his Heavenly Home on Monday, September 2, 2019, peacefully at home. Reldon was born in Palmer, Missouri on April 27, 1929 to the late Marion and Opal (Yount) Black. Reldon proudly served his Country in the Unites States Army during Korean Conflict. After he returned home he married the love of his life Miss Muriel Land on November 4, 1956. This union was blessed with two sons. Reldon and Muriel bought a farm outside of Salem, where they raised their family. As the boys were growing, Reldon taught them about farm life, hard work, and being responsible young men, he was proud of his family and celebrated in every success they earned. Reldon was an avid hunter, and taught his boys at an early age how to hunt the land, most important it was the time spend getting there, and what was discussed on those drives, as he shared his life stories, and experiences. It was later figured out by the boys, that it never was about the “hunt”, but the time that was spent together. Reldon was a man of God, and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He adored his family, and especially enjoyed the grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Reldon Black is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Muriel Black, of the home; sons, Montie Black and wife Vickie, of Salem, MO, and Marvin Black and wife Kathy, of Salem, MO; grandchildren, Eric Black SR, Chad Black, BJ Black, and Haley Black; a host of great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Marion and Opal Black, he was preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Black; sisters, Retha Wilkinson, and Jewel Higgins.
