Obituary of Raymond L Bailey Topsham – Raymond L. “Puppy” Bailey, Sr., 83, died October 20, 2019 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor after a period of declining health. He was born April 2, 1936 in Pittston, the son of Chester and Eva (Grover) Bailey. Raymond was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War era. He worked as a steelworker for Bath Iron Works from 1957 to 1993, and he enjoyed and excelled at cooking having worked in various restaurants in the Bath Brunswick area. Surviving are two children, Cynthia and her husband Malcolm Brydon of Hermon, Raymond and his wife Kathy Bailey of Bath; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Amedy and his precious great-grandson Noah Amedy whom Puppy cherished and loved dearly; grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Bailey and a great-granddaughter Freya Bailey; grandchildren, Edwin and Nolan Morton; one beloved brother, Robert Bailey and his wife, Ilsa of Poland, ME; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, one daughter, Deborah Kelley and seven siblings. Raymond’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor as well as the Kindred Hospice for their excellent care. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove Ave., Bath with the Rev. Mark Drinkwater presiding. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Maine Veterans Home Activities Fund, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401.
