Belknap age 82, of Harker Heights, passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at Baylor Scott and White hospital in Temple with his loving wife by his side. He was born December 13, 1936, in Saint Johnsbury Vermont a son of Buster and Gladys (Engles) Belknap. Philip was a veteran of the Vietnam War, he received the following metals: Vietnam service metal with 4 bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Meritorious unit citation, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation with Palm. He retired for the U.S. Army with 24 years of active duty. Philip loved to fish and could often be found at the lake fishing with friends or his wife the love of his life Rita. He earned his bachelor’s degree in substance abuse and guided many people to recovery in his career. His is survived by his loving wife Rita (Dedigo) Belknap, family and many close friends. The family will receive family and friends on Friday November 1, 2019 from 12:30 -2:00 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home 425 East Central Texas Expressway, Harker Heights Texas. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Central Texas Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors at.
