Norma Jean Grogan of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Salem, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at her home in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 81. Norma was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 24, 1938 to the late Clyde and Norma (Hendrix) Inman. In 1960 she married Ondo Grogan, they were the proud parents of their son Garrick. She attended Glendale Christian Church when she was able. Jean spent 40 years teaching school, she taught home economics where she taught students to cook, sew, and take care of their future families. She was a FBLA leader for many years. Being a kind loving person , she always tried to get students to excel in school and even later in life. In addition to teaching, she enjoyed owning Grogan’s Department store for nearly a 50 years. She enjoyed traveling to see what was new in clothing and stocking her store with her new found trends. When time allowed she would go with friends and family to trout fish. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all, and will be greatly missed. Norma Jean Grogan is survived by her son, Garrick Grogan and wife Selena, of Springfield, MO, brother; Ronnie Inman and wife Janet of Salem, MO. sister-in-law; Jewell Grogan of Salem, MO; grandchildren, Gregory Grogan, Lauren Michelle Grogan, and Leigha Grogan; nieces; Marie Schafer and Christina Hansen, Kendra Schmitt; nephew; Keith Inman, extended family and friends. In addition to her husband, Ondo, her parents, Clyde and Norma Inman, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Inman, brother-in-law Leo Grogan, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Abby Grogan. Funeral services for Jean Grogan will be Wednesday August 28, 2019 at the Salem Chapel of James & Gahr Mortuary with J.J. Tune and Tim Hill officiating. Interment will be in the cedar Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Brooks, Jarrod Brooks, Keith Inman, Brandon Schmitt, Gary Brown, Warren Hutchenson.
