Monta Kay’s Obituary Monta Kay Nantze, age 67, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, October 24, 2019, surrounded by her loving children. Monta Kay was born August 15, 1952, in Texarkana, Arkansas to March and Minnie Arnold. A current member of Rhema Baptist Church, Monta Kay was saved at a young age and served the Lord with music throughout her life. Music was her passion. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing solos and often attended “5th Sunday singings” with friends. She was “Nana” to her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild and loved them deeply. She was a very selfless person, always putting others first. Monta Kay was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Leona Evelyn Gammill. Survivors include one son, Jason Perry of Texarkana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Derek Chavez of Poteau, Oklahoma and Heather and Paul Orr of Texarkana; eight grandchildren, Michael Perry, Sean Perry, Jasie Perry, Mackenzie Chavez, Gabriel Chavez, Savannah Chavez, Madison Orr and Ryan Orr; one great-grandchild, Avery Perry; one nephew, Eddy Ray Gammill; two nieces, Ginger Hatridge and Tena Boyd; along with many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, October 28, 2019, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas with Bro. Steve Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Following the services, the family will receive friends at 104 Medina Drive, Texarkana, Texas.
