Mona Jeanne Smith Jarrell, age 89, of Springfield, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at NHC HealthCare. The family will receive friends 10am until 12:00pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Entombment will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Jarrell was born July 30, 1930 in Friendship, TN to the late Presley Francis and Daisy Pitt Smith. She worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority and was a member of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Jarrell is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wendell Jarrell and his sisters, Merle Crawford and Frances Warren McNeall. She is survived by her step-sons, Kenny (Carla) Jarrell of Nashville and Kris Jarrell of Smyrna; step-daughters, Kimberly (Rick) Coad of Hoover, AL and Karen (Cris) Anderson of Selina, TX; step-grandchildren, Paige Melton, Abby Melton, Grace Anderson, Jackson Anderson and step-great-grandchild, Grayson Coad. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.
