Mrs. Molly Laverne Hudson, 83 of Brighton, passed away on the evening of October 11, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hudson was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Brighton. Mrs. Hudson is survived by her husband, Mr. Harold Hudson of Brighton; her daughters, Patsy Hatfield of Covington, Darlene Long (John) of Granville, TN, and Carol Smith of Brighton; her son, Ricky Downing (Christy) of Brighton; her siblings, Ruby Reynolds, Desmond Joy, and John Joy; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Dawson and Steven Downing; her siblings, Donald Joy, Betty Joy, and Jeanette Hamblin; and by her parents, John Alvin and Josie Bell Joy. Visitation for Mrs. Hudson will be held on Monday night, October 14, from 5:00 – 8:00 at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family has requested memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
