Michael’s Obituary Michael Eugene Smith age 67 of Smyrna, TN, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019. A native of Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late Calvin Baird and Peggy Neal Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his sister, Marjorie “Margie” Smith of Smyrna, TN; brothers, Charles “Charlie” Smith and his wife Shirley of Murfreesboro, TN, and Neal Smith and his wife Lisa of Smyrna, TN; and special friend and caregiver, Ed Stant of Smyrna, TN; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Giles Creek Baptist Church, 7084 Rocky Fork Road, Smyrna, TN 37167. Mr. Smith was retired from the University of Tennessee Extension Service in Williamson County, and the Master Gardener Program in Williamson County. The family would like to express their gratitude to Alive Hospice and Ed Stant for the care given to Mr. Smith.
