Yvonne, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2019. She was a resident of Albany, LA. Yvonne’s family always came first; she was a loving mother, a wonderful spouse, and she always adored her precious grandchildren. Yvonne always enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved gardening, traveling and most of all reading her books while she was relaxing. Yvonne had a heart of gold and loved and cared for everyone. She was a remarkable woman who left a remarkable impact on those she loved and will be forever missed. Yvonne is survived by sons, Jacob “Sonny” and Phyne Abels, David and Patricia Abels; sister, Carolyn Maloney; grandchildren, Devin Polk and Renee Glascock, Desiree Flowers, Mandy Perriloux and Dre, Jason and Cindy Abels, David Jr. and Carmella Abels, Dottie and Alan Clark; great-grandchildren, Collin Glascock, Connor Glascock, Wyatt Flowers, Aiden Perrilloux, Devin Meadows, Shana Abels, Hillary and Chad Bryson, Emma Clark, Zack Clark, Lee Ann Abels, Alex Abels, and Aidan Abels. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Dalton Hoover; daughter, Kathleen Abels Glascock; and parents, Ives and Mary Fayard St. Germain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, Hammond, on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Springfield Cemetery.
