Mary Kay’s Obituary Mary Kay Petrangelo, age 73, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. Mary Kay was born in 1946 to Clarence and Barbara Kangas in Hibbing, MN. Mary Kay graduated from Virginia High School. After raising her children, she earned her two-year degree in accounting and worked at Receivable Control Corp for 20 years. Mary Kay and her first husband, Ivan Olson, raised their family in Coon Rapids. Mary Kay then moved to Ramsey, where she lived with her second husband, Jerry Petrangelo, for 10 years. Mary Kay and Jerry moved to Grand Rapids upon retirement so they could be close to their cabin on Twin Lake. Preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny Olson; and brothers, Lenny, Walt, and Tony. Mary Kay is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughters, Karla Czech, Teresa (Doug) Gorsegner; son, Randy (Julie) Olson; daughter-in-law, Nadine Olson; sister, Linda (Pete) Nowak, Clara (Joe Erjavec) Salmi, Peggy (Dennis) Johnson; brothers, Calvin (Kathy) Kangas, Victor (Debra) Labadie; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held October 27th at 1:00 PM at the American Legion in Grand Rapids, Minnesota with a time of reflection and sharing stories.
