Mary G. Howell, age 76, of Coleman, died Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Coleman Healthcare Center. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, at Stevens Funeral Home with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve King of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Private interment will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery near Novice in Coleman County. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman. She was born Mary Geanie Bears on February 12, 1943 in Bowie County, Texas, a daughter of Gerald Arlington Bears and Bertha Lea Autry Bears. She grew up in the Texarkana, Texas, area and attended school there. On June 2, 1983 she married Calvin Ray Howell in Texarkana and he died on August 24, 1993. Mary worked as a nurses aide in nursing homes. Several years ago she moved to Coleman. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Calvin Howell, Jr. and Matthew Howell both of Brownwood, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Tammy Michelle Miller in 1977, and all her siblings. Please leave condolences and kind messages at www.livingmemorials.com.
