Mary Ann Ballinger, age 85, of Strawberry Plains, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019, from the progression of dementia. She was member of Holston Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Doyle Ballinger; daughter, Shelia Wolfenbarger; great-granddaughter, Raelynn Ingle; and several siblings. She is survived by her son, Dirk Ballinger of New Market, daughters, Cynthia Ballinger, Lisa Ford and Tabitha (Brandon) Ingle all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Leon Ford, Payden Poore, Kayla Lovelace, C.J. Michalak, Hannah and Hunter Ingle; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty (Howard) Phipps of Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests sending words of support to a family dealing with dementia. Funeral service 7:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Fielden Chapel with Rev. Tony Hayes officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Friday in the Old Mill Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
