SHERBURNE: Martin L. “M.J.” Logsdon, Jr., 30 of Balcom Hill Rd., died early Saturday, October 19, 2019 as the result of a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Columbus. He was born September 15, 1989 in Norwich, a son of Martin L., Sr. and Tammy McLaren Logsdon and received his education in Norwich and Sherburne schools. M.J. was currently working for Rentals to Go in Norwich. During the aftermath of hurricane Sandy, he was a field supervisor for FEMA. He also did carpentry, masonry and paving. He enjoyed playing pool, spending time in the outdoors, riding dirt bikes, going on nature walks and bicycling. His favorite times were spent with his son playing video games, tossing a ball and teaching him archery, a hobby he truly enjoyed. His greatest aspiration was to be a professional dirt bike rider. Martin is survived by his fiancee, Rachael Curtis; his beloved son, Martin L. “Tre”, Logsdon, III; his parents, Marty and Tammy of Columbus; paternal grandmother, Frances Logsdon of East Rutherford, NJ; a sister and her fiancé, Crystal Logsdon and Jeffrey Johnson of South Plymouth; and two nieces, Michelle and Demoleigh; aunts and uncles, Zina Arendondo of Ahwatukee, AZ; Tina McLaren of Sherburne; Gordon E. McLaren, III of Phoenix, AZ; Linda Pappas of CO; Frances Logsdon and Patricia Logsdon, both of East Rutherford, NJ and Joseph Little, who was like a brother to Tammy; and many cousins. He is also survived by his dear friends who were like his brothers, Joseph Little, Jr., Chad Youngs, Justin Gager, Joseph Hughes and Andrew Sutton; and a step-grandfather, Mario Ziemba. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Gordon and Joanne Jackson McLaren and Richard Logsdon. Funeral services will be held at 6pm Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne. Interment will be private at the convenience of his family. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4-6pm prior to the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to a trust fund to benefit his son.
