Marion M. Kesner, age 87 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Faith Countryside Homes/Faith Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born on Wednesday, December 30, 1931, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Cletus and Elsie (nee Carrillon) Hundsdorfer. On Saturday, December 29, 1951, she married Roger S. Kesner at St.. Paul Catholic Church-Highland, IL, who passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Former member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland. Marion was born at Highland, IL; graduated from St. Paul High School in 1949 and a graduate of Gradwohl School of Medical Technology, St. Louis. She was the Assistant Supervisor of the Medical Laboratory at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, for over 50 years. She reared her family and attended all of their grandchildren activities. She was always with her husband, between being on call and night calls, during his activities as a school principal and coach. They enjoyed gardening together and she played in several Bridge card clubs and was an avid reader. Survivors include: Daughter – Sue A. (Dr. Scott A.) Halvorson, Highland, IL Grandson – Jonathan Anton (significant other-Amy Taub) Halvorson, Brooklyn, NY Granddaughter – Jennifer Ann (husband-John Forsdike) Halvorson, Noblesville, IN Great Granddaughter – Alice Elsie Forsdike, Noblesville, IN Anticipated Great Grandson Forsdike, Noblesville, IN Sister-In-law – Sandra K. Hundsdorfer, Highland, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father – Cletus Anton Hundsdorfer – Died 11/20/1977 Mother – Elsie M. Hundsdorfer (nee Carrillon) – Died 12/12/1999 Husband – Roger S. Kesner – Died 04/23/2007 Son – Lt. John Cletus “Jay” Kesner, USN – Died 6/15/1985 Brother – Anton “Tony” Hundsdorfer – Died 6/24/2017. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL, with Rev. Fr. Paul J. Bonk, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to PAPAYA Youth Group at Immaculate Conception Church.
