Margaret Meeks, 84, received the call to glory on the morning of October 14th, 2019. The Lord Jesus determined that her husband, Billy Meeks, who had passed in 2012, had had enough fun without her and He needed Margaret to whip Billy back into shape, as she did throughout their 60 years of marriage. She had a long history of whipping her loved ones into shape when they needed it, and her surviving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are happy to know that Daddy/Papaw will be the happy recipient of her ministrations from this point forward. Margaret was an amazing woman who loved deeply and without reservation to all those she met. A deeply faithful woman, she was the epitome of God’s call in John 13 to love one another, as He has loved us. If someone needed help, or had no one to care for them; they would find a loving friend in Margaret. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church in Walls, MS and taught the 3 year old Sunday school class for close to 40 years. She loved her “little children” and teaching them about how much Jesus loved them. Margaret was also a fearless woman and an accomplished world traveler! Her gypsy spirit took her all over the world and because she never met a stranger, she had kindred spirits around the world that she kept in touch with for many years. Don’t get me wrong, Mom had her faults as we all do…but her strengths far outweighed these. She instilled in her children a deep love of the Lord, to always be generous, kind, compassionate, to be a hardworker, and to never miss an opportunity to help those in need. These values were her mission statement, and her legacy lives on in her family. Her favorite verse was Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” You are all invited to come and rejoice in a celebration of her life, which will take place at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home in Covington, TN at 2pm, October 19th, 2019. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 prior to the service beginning. If you would like to bring your own personal memories/stories of Margaret to share, please feel free to do so. Interment will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Henning, TN.
