Mr. Lyle Francis Gates, age 84 of Brodhead, Ky. passed away Friday, October 11th, 2019 at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Ky. Lyle was born on April 20, 1935 in Natural Bridge, New York, a son of the late Walter and Pearl Cowan Gates. He retired from General Motors in Flint Michigan after nineteen years of service. He served his country in the US Air Force. Was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. On November 24, 1956 he was united in marriage to Violet Craven Gates, and they enjoyed 62 years together. Those left to celebrate his life are: his wife, Violet Gates of Brodhead, Ky.; A special granddaughter, Jamie Linder of Brodhead, Ky; Five daughters: Sandra Linder, Ruth “Bob” Nichols, Victoria “Doug” Nicholls, Tammy “Rob” Seavolt and Wendy “Billy” Labod. Ten grandchildren. Ten great grandchildren. Two great great grandchildren. There will be no local services. Marvin E.
