Linda’s Obituary Linda Kay Hood, age 77 of Garland, Texas, went home to be with God on October 24, 2019. She was born May 11, 1942, in Fulton, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her husband John L. Hood, Sr., and parents Joseph Harold and Louise King Muzzall. Survivors include sisters Judy Pickering and Charlotte Pickering and brother Joe Muzzall, all of South Fulton, Tennessee; son Johnny Hood of Irving, Texas; and stepdaughter Robin Hood of Tallapoosa, Georgia. Linda was a devoted wife and mother. She was a kind-hearted woman who was easy to befriend and hard to anger. She loved to quilt and crochet and leaves behind many beautiful quilts and afghans. She suffered from many physical ailments and resided at Winters Park Nursing for over eleven years. Over these years she displayed a strong resolve in the face of pain and bodily weakness. She is now freed from the bondage of pain and suffering. Despite being in the nursing home, Linda desired to become part of a church family, and last year joined First Baptist Church Garland. Many thanks to the folks at First Baptist for their care and concern for Linda and also to the staff and volunteers at Winters Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Williams Funeral Directors in Garland. A graveside service will be Wednesday, October 30 at 11:00 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, with Rev. Jack Schmid officiating. Read More
