Lee E. Stevens, age 71 of Salem, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 6:28 pm, in St. Vincent Salem Hospital. Born November 25, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Edward and Doris J. (Hoffmeister) Stevens. Lee was a nuclear engineer and retired in 2001 from the U. S. Department of Energy. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Salem, had been a resident of Washington County since 1997, formerly of Louisville and received a Master’s degree in Engineering in 1971 from the University of Louisville. On February 11, 1977 he married Susan L. (Thompson) Stevens, who passed away October 3, 2012. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Bret (Kay) Stevens of Pekin and Darin McNeely of Columbus; Daughter: Gina Thompson of Salem; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Aaron Stevens and 1 brother, Danny Stevens. Funeral Service: 8:00 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home. Visitation: 4:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday.
