Mrs. Katherine L. (Kathy) Hitchcock, age 64, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 in a Rome medical center. She was born in Dallas, GA on June 19, 1955, a daughter of the late Roy Jackson and the late Evelyn Wood Hitchcock. Kathy had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart where she retired from Meggitt with over thirty years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and she had a great love for her animals and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Roger Lochamy. Survivors include her two daughters: Layla Edwards, Rockmart and Hanna Forrister (Travis), Rockmart; four grandchildren: Paris Edwards, Skylar Edwards, Aidan Forrister and Taegan Forrister; two sisters: Sue Pinion and Jeannie Osborne; brother, Eddie Hitchcock (Jamesa); and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 5:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Purser officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 3:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Katherine L. (Kathy) Hitchcock.
