Judy Kay Gullett, 71, of Robinson, IL, died September 23, 2019, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Judy was born on July 24, 1948, in Robinson, the daughter of Emerson & Mildred (Lackey) Bliss, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister & brother-in-law, Beverley & Earl Goff. She married Byron Gullett on June 20, 1970, and he survives. She is also survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Kara & Scott Price… (Martinsville, IL) and Kristy Gullett & David Wright (Orange County, CA); by her grandchildren, Mallory, Kambry, and Landry Price; by her step-grandchildren, Morgan and Emma Wright; by her brothers & sisters-in-law, Joe & Evelyn Bliss (Oblong, IL) and Marion & Marsha Bliss (Oblong, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Judy grew up outside of Oblong and was a 1967 graduate of Oblong High School. She spent 25 years as a cook in the Washington Grade School cafeteria in Robinson. Though Judy enjoyed spending time at home reading, crocheting, and making craft projects, she also found joy hunting for treasures at local garage sales and in taking long walks, enjoying in the beauty of God’s creation. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Judy Gullett will be remembered as a woman who lived life with humility and purpose; a soul whose legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Judy was a member of Modern Woodmen and was a lifelong member of the Dogwood Prairie United Methodist Church in Oblong. We have the assurance that today, she has been freed from the chains of this world and is experiencing the fullness of her Savior. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 28th at the funeral home with Reverend Tom Akers officiating. During the service, friends and family will have the opportunity to help celebrate her life by sharing their favorite memories of Judy. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to “Dogwood Prairie United Methodist Church”, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
