Juanita Louise Peterson, 84, of Decatur, IL, passed away October 25, 2019 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Juanita was born December 24, 1934 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of George W. and Thelma and Betty Bell. She married her husband of 64 years, James L. Peterson, on December 24, 1954 in Decatur, IL. She loved to play bingo every Thursday evening. Surviving are her husband, James; granddaughter, Shelbi “Fifi” Brewer-Wagner (boyfriend, Jon Smith); siblings, William Bell (Evette) of Fort Myers, FL, Jerome Bell (Linda) of Maroa, IL, Theresa Bell of Decatur, IL; great grandchildren, Savana, Morgan, Gracie, Presley; bonus family, Lynn, Kathy and Ashley; and special friend, Patricia Brewer. She was preceded by her parents, children, April Lynn Nixon, Marla Jo Peterson-Brewer, James D. Peterson and brothers, Charles and Robert. Private services will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials have been suggested to Alzheimer’s Foundation or Susan G. Koemen Foundation. The Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Juanita.
