Joyce Long October 16, 1939 – October 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Mrs. Joyce Long 80, a resident of Rives, died Friday October 25, 2019 at Union City Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday at Greater Vision Church of God with Bishop Robin Rotgers officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery, Rives. Pallbearers will be Tom Snider, Jimmy Robertson, and Paul Holderman. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Greater Vision Church of God, Troy. Mrs. Long was born on October 6, 1939 in Dickson, TN daughter of the late Edgar and Mable (Potter) Robertson. She was a retired laborer from Martin Manufacturing Company. She married Alvin Long, Sr. on September 30, 1956. He died on December 28, 2010. She was a member of Greater Vision Church of God, Troy. The family requests memorials be sent to: Greater Vision Church of God, 701 S Mary Jane St, Troy, Tn 38260. Mrs.Long is survived by two sons: Alvin Long, Jr. of Union City, and Darrell Long of Rives: a granddaughter, Amanda Nichole Long of Rutherford; a sister, Darlene Melton of Judsonia, Ar., and a brother, Larry Robertson of Union City. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Hulan Robertson, and Danny Robertson.
