Obituary of Josephine Evans Josephine Sawyers Evans, 82 , of Woodridge was called to her heavenly home on October 16, 2019 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1937 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late William Walker Sawyers and Susan Delia Smith. She loved the Lord. She always loved to sing and pray. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brother and others will truly miss her. She will always be in their hearts. She was married to the late James Monroe Evans for many years. Following his death, she later married Ike Larry who is also deceased. She was blessed with six children. She is survived by four daughters: Brenda Miller (Sam) of Woodridge, NY. Glenda Ivory of Mount Airy, NC., Hazel Evans of Landover, MD, Mary Evans (Jerry) of Falls River MA, one son: Andrew Evans of Binghamton, NY., 16 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren, two brothers Johnny Sawyers (Treva) of Galax, VA., and Walter Sawyers (Doris) of Mount Airy NC, 3 sisters: Louise Jones (Ron) of Pinnacle, NC., Genva Reyes (Friend) Galax, VA., Lealur Reddick, Count Airy, NC., and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, one daughter, five brothers, and two sisters.
