Joseph “Don”‘s Obituary Joseph Donald Roland “Don”, age 79 from Crivitz, WI passed away on October 16th in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born May 5, 1940, in Marinette, WI to the late Joseph and Eunice Roland. He is survived by his wife ,Mary of 62 years, sons: Mark (Denise), Mike, David (Michelle) and Daniel (Carrie). Don is also survived by brothers, Jan (Linda), Russel (Debbie ) sisters: Beverly (Bill) Kelly, Carol (John) Meyers, and Linda (Jerry) Truitt; and brother in law, Gary (Terri) Bearson and was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Bearson. Family includes many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Don was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to everyone. Don graduated from high school in 1958 and Carthage College in 1962 where he excelled at basketball. Upon graduation, earning a business degree, he worked at AC Electronics in Milwaukee until 1966 when he then joined the Ansul Company in Marinette. He served as Supervisor and Manager of Cost Accounting, Manager of Corporate Accounting, Treasurer and Controller, and Vice President before being named President in 1987. Don was active in city affairs serving as Chairman of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and also served on the Marinette Catholic Central Foundation. When Don retired in 1990, he spent time with his family enjoying the outdoors, fishing, camping, golfing, hunting and traveling. He and his wife Mary enjoyed going to Packer games tailgating with family and friends and will be truly missed by those who knew him. Visitation will be held on Monday October 21st at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette from 4pm-7pm with a vigil prayer service at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held for family and friends on Tuesday October 22nd at Holy Family Parish-Our Lady of Lourdes Church 2715 Taylor Street in Marinette at 11am with Fr. John Bergstadt officiating, immediately followed by a luncheon at the church hall. Entombment will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Dear Aunt Mary and Family, Please allow me to express my sincere deep sadness at the loss of Uncle Don. He was such a wonderful man who always had a kind interest in others. His warmth and integrity shown out into the world. Even though I did not get to see him very often in recent years, it always seemed to me as if no time or distance had passed.when we got together. The world was a better place for having had Don in it and his loss will be heartfelt by all who loved and admired him. I will always remember the good times we had on your visits to us and our Family trips to Wisconsin. Most memorable is the time you went out of your way to visit my little farm in Grass Lake. My boyfriend George will miss talking white tail deer hunting with him. Words can’t adequately express how sad I feel for all of you at his passing. Love, Barbara
