Jordan was born on November 12, 1923 in Derby Connecticut to the late Benjamin and Rose Reich. Jordan was an accounting graduate of Bryant College in Rhode Island. Jordan proudly served his country in WWII. He was a staff sergeant in the 2nd Battalion 261st Infantry Regiment under General Patton in the European Conflict and the liberation of Dachau. He started United Express, in Rocky Hill Connecticut in 1961, a transportation intermediary company that was successfully continued and grown by his son Brian after he retired. Jordan is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Rita; daughter Sharon Pollak and husband Gary; sons Stanton Reich, Brian Reich and wife Laurie; grandchildren Lianne Aponte, Nicole Simonich and husband John, Sydney Reich, Daniel Reich, and great-grandson Ari Aponte. Jordan and his family had many wonderful years together at their home in West Hartford, Connecticut and at their Cape Cod vacation home. He and Rita moved to Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach in 1984 and then 7 years ago moved to Abbey Delray in Delray Beach. Through the years Jordan was an avid golfer, tennis player, and loved boating on his sailboat the “Jorree”. He loved building and creating things in and for his homes. But mostly – he built strong relationships – people he met in his life admired and respected him and all felt a strong bond with him. Jordan was a generous man who loved his family and friends well. He was always happy, loved to make people laugh, and treated everyone around him like they were the most special people in the world. He will be missed.
