Obituary of John W. Collar, Jr. John W Collar, 72, of Cato, died October 7, 2019, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He leaves his wife, Cindy O’Leary Collar; his son, Christopher Collar and his wife, Joanna Collar, two grandsons, William and Jacob of Plainview, NY, a daughter, Barbara from Anaheim, California, grandson, Thomas, family, and close friends. John was born and raised in Baldwinsville, the son of Edith and John Collar and brother of the late Diane Collar Fiorini and her surviving husband, Al Fiorini and their children, Christine and Michael of Georgia. After graduating from Baker High School, John worked for Morris Pumps until he started his own car sales business, John Collar Auto Sales in Syracuse and later in Baldwinsville. Following retirement John and Cindy opened the B’Ville Pickle Deli on Genesee Street. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and playing cards, one of his favorite pastimes. Calling hours will be held at Falardeau Funeral Home from 1-4 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2019. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
