His service with full military rights will be held Friday, October 25, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Pastor James O. Wolfe III officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2019, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. John was born June 19, 1936 in Pontiac, IL to Lester L. and Reva M. (Hollahan) Lind. He married Patricia Y. Rich on January 17, 1958, in Chenoa, IL. She passed away on November 7, 2008. He is survived by his children, Debra S. (Rick) Golliday of Pontiac, IL, Janet K. (Mike) Runyon of Pontiac, IL, Patrick T. (Lisa) Lind of Pontiac, IL, and Joseph W. (Pam) Lind of Pontiac, IL; grandchildren, Chris McClellan, Trisha Brannan, Lindsey Flessner, Taylor Lind, Tyler Lind, Jordan Lind, Jaimi Lind, Jessica Lind, Gabe Lind, Jacob Lind, Jeremy Lind, Justin Lind, Lance Golliday, Landon Golliday, and Evan Golliday; great-grandchildren, Addyson, Sophia, Jozie, Mason, Daxton, Bryer, Eli, Ella, Luke, and Hayleigh; siblings, Dorothy Jackson of Spring Valley, FL, Joseph (Ursella) Lind of Elk City, OK, Mary Tinsley of Lake Havasu, AZ, Danny (Connie) Lind of Elk City, OK, and Katherine (J.D.) Richardson of Hurst, IL; sister-in-law, LaDonna Lind from Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; two sons, Michael Lind and John Lind; one grandson, Brian Lind; and one brother, Lester Lind. John served in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 to 1957. He worked with the Local 150 as a heavy equipment operator. John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac, IL. He loved spending time with his family and watching his sons and grandsons wrestle. He enjoyed sports, stock car races, and setting up at flea markets. He was a very loving, thoughtful person and will be missed by many. Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
