Jimmie LeMond, 74 of Andrews, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 in Andrews. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 17, 2019 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Willard Moody of Casa Grande, Arizona, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the funeral home. Jimmie was born on November 12, 1944 in Lamesa, Texas to Floyd and Evelyn Marie Nelson LaMond. He grew up in Lovington, New Mexico where he graduated from high school, he was an outstanding basketball player. Jimmie moved to Andrews in 1964. His passion was horses and rodeo’s. Jimmie was a calf roper and team roper with the Jr. Rodeo circuit and later with the PRCA. He worked for Andrews County Parks Department for 18 years before retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Richard LeMond. Jimmie is survived by a son, Jody LeMond and wife Blair of Andrews, Texas, a daughter Jimmie Lynn LeMond and companion Dylan of Andrews, Texas, step-daughter Shonda Brunson of Andrews, Texas, brothers, Ronnie LeMond and wife Brenda of Andrews, Texas, Kenneth LeMond of Andrews, Texas, sister Brenda Hooper and husband Ikey of Andrews, Texas, and 5 grandchildren.
