Obituary of Jean Irene Cornett Qualls Kingsport – Jean Irene Cornett Qualls, 80 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 25, 2019 at her residence following a long illness. Born in Oxford, PA, she had lived in this area since 1973. She owned and operated Cornett’s Rent-a-Gown & Tux. Jean attended Apostolic Revival Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Robert Cornett; sons, Eddie and Steve Cornett; daughter, Brenda Braswell; parents, Harold and Vina Grey; sisters, Mildred Grey and MaryAnn Butler. Jean is survived by her husband, Mack Qualls; daughter, Carol McKeithen (Rob); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Souder (Jackson); brother, Kelcie Grey (Shirley); step daughters, Tammy, Janice and Margaret; several nieces and nephews; her beloved fur baby, Sophie. ***Family and friends may meet on Monday night at 6 p.m., October 28, 2019 at Bethel Apostolic Church, 1820 Pinebrook Drive, Kingsport, TN for fellowship and to share memories***. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Bethel Apostolic Church. A celebration of life will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Jeremy Cornett officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses or the charity of one’s choice.
