Jeanette’s Obituary Surrounded by a loving family, Jeanette Marjorie Martin, passed away peacefully at her rural Ardmore residence, Monday, October 14, 2019, at the age of eighty-nine years, one month and twenty days. Jeanette was born to the late Earl “Austin” Jones and Jarret T. Editha “Amy” (Knox) Jones, August 24, 1930 at Wichita, Kansas. The family moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma where Jeanette was the Salutatorian of the 1948 graduating class at Midwest City High School. Jeanette and Fred Neal Martin, Jr. were married January 12, 1950 in Oklahoma City. The parents of four children, Johncy, Darci, Kelly, and Tracy, they were married for sixty-three years. She and Fred had a collaborative and caring relationship. It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. They were the owner/operators of Marine Services, a boat repair shop, in Lone Grove from 1978 until 1998. In addition to her parents Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred, January 11, 2013; her twin sister, Jean Marie Jones Porter Ball, brothers, Earl “Bud” Jones and Neal Clay “Peewee” Jones. Jeanette is survived by her children and their spouses, Johncy and Sherry Martin of Lone Grove; Darci and C.W. Brewer of Ardmore; Kelly and Anita Martin of Lindsay; Tracy and Gary Yarbrough of Ardmore; her grandchildren, Brad Martin (Teia); Amy Ponder (Chris); Chad Gillispie; Sherret Threadgill; Michelle Brewer; Travis Brewer (Nacoal): Lee Martin; Michael Martin (Kristina); Ryan Martin; Jen Asper; Sarah Licharowicz (Stanley); Stephen Asper; Eric Yarbrough (Brandy) and Leah Yarbrough. Also twenty-six great-grandchildren and six great-great- grandchildren. Her sister Beverly “Bev” Sumner and husband, James, Newalla; brother, Chris Jones and wife, Judy, Denver, Colorado; an aunt, Geneva Hall, New Harmony, Indiana and sister-in-law, Barbara Martin, Irving, Texas. Numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. The family wishes to express a big “Thank You” to Cross Timbers Hospice for all of their invaluable help and compassion and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C St NW, Ardmore 73401 or the charity of choice. Jeanette requested her body be donated to the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center; and there be no services.
