Born December 27, 1939, in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late James W. Skipwith, Sr. and Helen Whitlock Skipwith Mitchell. He was married to the late Gloria Stanford Skipwith. Survivors include one son, John Farrar of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one sister, Ramona Skipwith of Danville, VA; one brother, George C. Skipwith (Ola Mae) of Danville, VA; a special niece, Hope Barksdale and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one brother, William E. Skipwith. The family will receive friends at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 1 PM from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cynthia Skipwith Carter, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on the day of service. Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Skipwith family.
