James Wilbur Reuther of Lansing formerly of McMillan and Potterville passed away October 14, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born October 23, 1945 in Detroit and was raised by parents Wilbur and Charlotte (Elder) Reuther. Jim was born to the late Wilson and Josephine (Perkins) Meholic. He graduated from Southwestern High School in Detroit Class of 1963 and was a United States Navy Veteran. Jim started as a Switching Technician for Michigan Bell ultimately retiring from ATT after 34 years. He was formerly a member of the Potterville Lions Club and life member of the NRA. He loved spending time outdoors whether it was deer hunting, snow blowing and mowing the lawn at his custom built log home in the Upper Peninsula with his Kubota Tractor. He cherished all the times he could spend with his grandkids and took those opportunities to teach them how to safely shoot and clean guns, pick blueberries or Geocache treasure hunt with them. He enjoyed Tigers baseball, cashews, peanut brittle, country music his pet Labrador Retrievers. Jim was also a history buff and great story teller and was able to share many of those stories on his blog, Sunday Morning Coffee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda K. (Wendling); daughters, Traci Lynn Holt, Dawn Yvette (Robert) Leggett and Brandi A. Reuther; grandchildren, Dallas M. and Denver J. Holt, Aerin T. and Austin A. Leggett, Branson M. Holt and Sierra A. Reuther; siblings, Elizabeth A. Gorski, William R. (Joyce) Way, Olivia Way, Robert Meholic and Bonnie Pickle. Jim was preceded in death by his adoptive parents and brother-in-law, Frank Gorski. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge with Pastor James Roberts, officiating.
